Before ordering
How do I know if this is right for my injury?
It works for anything below the knee that needs full offloading — fractures, foot and ankle surgery, Achilles repair, plantar wounds, fusions, below-knee amputation — provided your other leg is sound. It is wrong for above-knee injuries and when both legs are affected. If you are unsure, send us your diagnosis and we will tell you.
Step1: Leg Length & Frame Setup
- Sit with your knee bent at a right angle.
- Place the tape at the top of the knee.
- Measure straight down to the floor.
- Measure from the ground/floor to the top of the knee while wearing standard footwear.
- Adjust the lower section of the aluminium frame to match this measurement using the frame’s measurement indicators.
- Insert friction pins from the inside out to lock length in place (or secure with bolts once final fit is confirmed).
- Refer: https://sorastride.com/sizing/
Step 2: Placing the Leg & The 4-Finger Rule
- Sit forward on a stable chair or table.
- Drop the leg into the moulded thigh cuff.
- Measure four finger-widths from the posterior knee crease (back of knee) to the top edge of the thigh strap/cuff to ensure consistent, repeatable alignment.
- Stand naturally, seated is fine too.
- Wrap the tape around the mid-thigh.
- Snug, not tight.
- Refer: https://sorastride.com/sizing/
Step 3: Securing Straps & Shin Pad
- Fasten lower and upper thigh straps firmly to minimize movement between leg and brace.
- Adjust shin pads based on footwear/protection: if wearing a rigid post-operative walking boot or cast, the removable shin pad can be detached or adjusted to prevent pressure points.
Step 4: Back Straps & Ankle Positioning
- Adjust back tracking straps so the frame stays aligned with the leg during movement.
- Maintain ankle at 90° for standard lower leg/foot recoveries (or in prescribed plantar flexion for Achilles/posterior tendon surgery).
Do I need a prescription or referral?
No. You can order directly. If your surgeon gave you specific weight-bearing instructions, follow those — this gives full non-weight-bearing, so it satisfies the strictest version.
Does it fit over a cast or a walking boot?
Yes. The base height adjusts so the cast or boot hangs clear of the ground. Adjustment takes seconds and needs no tools, which matters in the first three weeks when swelling changes daily.
Using it
How long before I can walk with it properly?
Most people are walking confidently indoors within two or three days. Practise on flat ground before stairs.
Can I use it on stairs?
Yes, and it is the main reason people switch from crutches. Take the railing on your sound side for the first few days.
Can I drive wearing it?
No. Take it off before getting into the driver’s seat, without exception.
Ordering and delivery
How long does delivery take?
Two to four working days across India, free. Hyderabad and Secunderabad are usually next day. We dispatch after the fit call.
What payment methods do you accept?
UPI, all major cards, net banking, cash on delivery, and no-cost EMI. A GST invoice is issued with every order.
